Lower Athabasca

Lower Athabasca

The Lower Athabasca in northeastern Alberta is an at-risk region of wilderness and a featured campaign on The Big Wild. The Alberta government and environmental organizations have begun working to protect this area. The Big Wild continues to advocate for wilderness protection in the Lower Athabasca. If you feel strongly about protecting this place from the growing oil sands industry, take action and write Alberta's leaders.
